Berkshire Pigs are an ancient breed that has its origins in England. The breed is recognized by its black colour, light stockings and nose. Berkshire pigs are gaining renewed recognition as consistant producers of well marbled, sweet, and flavouful meat.
Our Berkshire pigs are raised in Canada. They are fed a vegetable only diet, without any addition of growth hormones or antibiotics.
The pigs are raised naturally on straw, and get plenty of exercise and fresh air. The meat is darker in colour and remains juicy after cooking, due to the naturally occuring marbling of the meat.
